L doesnt know how shinigamis die but he knows that if watari dies then he's next... so he faked his own death (and had yagami-san tell everyone so) this is supported by the fact he mentioned that he might go "back into hiding soon" previously. when watari died he pressed the button which sent a msg to mello/near's leader-person that said L was dead but L didnt die. yes, in conclusion, L DID NOT DIE. thank you very much. | |

(God knows how he ended up there, snuck on the plane to Hollywood possibly?) Most often sightings are at Staples, where L could be seen "compulsively sitting in all of the office chairs". In the same shopping center he was reported shopping for jeans at a Marshalls. Local fangirl "chikhra" has reported that "L" is willing to make the dangerous trip under the freeway to the east shopping centers if there is a sale at the Ross. More sightings of "L" have been reported across the globe. What does this reporter have to say? "Sit up straight or you'll never make it into concert band!"
